UFA D Kevin Shattenkirk ‘in talks’ with teams, eyeing 15th NHL season

Veteran defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk is in talks with several NHL teams about continuing his career, his agent George Bazos told TSN Hockey Insider’s Pierre LeBrun.

Bazos said they are looking for a good fit as the 35-year-old looks set to play in the league for 15 years.

Shattenkirk scored six goals and 24 points in 61 games with the Boston Bruins last season, averaging 15:47 of ice time. He had one assist while appearing in six of the team’s 13 playoff games.

The New Rochelle, New York native signed a one-year, $1.05 million contract with the Bruins as a free agent in 2023.

Drafted 14th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2007, Shattenkirk scored 103 goals and 484 points in 952 career games.

In 2020, he won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
