Karnataka’s commitment to creating a robust ecosystem for business is unwavering and the state is constantly working towards creating an environment conducive to growth and success, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday at Vidhana Soudha while addressing a business delegation from the United States

Addressing a roundtable with members of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) delegation, the prime minister said his government is deeply committed to creating an environment that nurtures innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable growth. “Whether it is information technology, biotechnology, aerospace or any other sector, we are ready to collaborate and co-create solutions that can address global challenges,” he said.

The prestigious roundtable brought together top US business leaders and government officials to discuss how to strengthen cooperation in sectors such as technology, innovation, trade and infrastructure. It was also attended by senior officials from several key departments of the Karnataka government.

The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between Karnataka and US companies. It covered areas such as expanding bilateral trade and technology partnerships, with both sides expressing their desire to attract more US investments to Karnataka and facilitate market access for Karnataka companies in the US. The discussions also highlighted the state’s emerging leadership in sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductors, which has generated significant interest from US companies looking to explore opportunities in these cutting-edge areas.

Both Karnataka and the US stressed the importance of strengthening the startup ecosystem in Karnataka, especially through better access to capital, mentoring and innovation support from US companies. Another focal point was the biotechnology and life sciences sectors.

According to a statement issued by the government, on the issue of infrastructure, the delegation expressed interest in partnering with Karnataka on urban development and sustainable infrastructure projects. Initiatives on collaborative skill development were also discussed, focusing on bridging the gap between manpower capacity and industry needs. In addition, there was a strong emphasis on promoting sustainable industrial practices, and both sides explored the adoption of renewable energy sources and public-private partnerships (PPPs) as a way to support environmental sustainability goals in Karnataka.
