Former CBS and Paramount exec Barry Chamberlain to head electric operations | News

Los Angeles-based production and distribution company Electric Entertainment has named former CBS and Paramount executive Barry Chamberlain as chief operating officer.

Chamberlain spent 21 years at CBS and Paramount, ending his career as president of sales for Paramount Global, where he oversaw international monetization of television content and feature films for CBS, Showtime and Paramount.

The executive, who left the US media giant in 2020, will lead day-to-day operations at Electric, managing division heads and staff, as well as providing strategic guidance and other executive duties. He will report to Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment.

Prior to serving as President of Sales at Paramount Global, Chamberlain was Senior Vice President of Sales at CBS Paramount International Television, where he oversaw sales offices in Latin America, Asia and Australia, and had direct responsibility for content licensing in Japan.

Previously, Chamberlain served as vice president of sales at CBS Broadcast International and, before that, director of international sales planning at Universal Studios.

Electric’s television series include Leverage: Redemption, a spin-off of Leverage, which aired for five seasons on TNT; Almost Paradise, currently available on Amazon Freevee, where it premiered on WGN America; The Ark on Syfy; and The Librarians: The Next Chapter on TNT.
