Jon Rahm’s Record LIV Golf Contract, Net Worth & Earnings | Golf | Sports

Jon Rahm is set to increase his already considerable net worth as he battles to become the 2024 LIV Golf Individual Champion this weekend. Rahm sent shockwaves through the golf world when he switched allegiances to the Saudi-backed league late last year.

But the move has significantly improved his financial situation. Currently leading the season standings with just one regular event remaining, Rahm is now ready to face Joaquin Niemann in Chicago.

After a series of failed attempts this season, Rahm is keen to end his campaign with a whopping £14million prize, which would significantly increase his already impressive net worth if he does so.

His decision to join LIV not only shook up the PGA Tour, but also earned him a record-breaking contract. From his lucrative deal with the Saudi-funded league to his career earnings so far, we delve into the wealth the Spanish superstar has amassed.

What is Jon Rahm’s net worth?

The 2023 Masters champion is considered one of the richest golfers in the world. Shortly after winning the Masters title, Rahm broke a new official PGA Tour money record for a single season, earning more than $15 million (£12 million), placing him just behind Scottie Scheffler, the Mirror reports.

Despite his relatively short PGA Tour career, Rahm ranks among the world’s top earners, having collected more than $50 million (£38 million) in prize money alone. He is also on the DP World Tour’s all-time list, with more than $26 million (£20 million) earned on the European tour.

However, Rahm’s fortunes changed dramatically when he moved to LIV, catapulting his earnings beyond his wildest dreams. While Rahm has earned a whopping $79m (£60m) from his golfing exploits alone, he also earns money off the course thanks to several lucrative sponsorship deals.

The Spanish golfer signed a lucrative deal with Callaway in 2021 after turning pro in 2016 and working with TaylorMade and Adidas. He is currently co-owner of Legion XIII, his LIV Golf team.

Rahm has lent his name to prestigious brands including TopGolf, VistaJet, Mercedes-Benz and Rolex. Although his exact net worth remains undisclosed, it is estimated to be around $100m (£76m), based on his current career earnings.

Rahm’s record-breaking deal with LIV Golf

Rahm’s decision to join LIV Golf has certainly raised eyebrows, but few could resist the eye-watering sums on offer. Reports suggest Rahm has signed a staggering $500 million (£386 million) contract, making it the biggest deal in LIV Golf’s history.

The deal was so colossal that it even eclipsed the £160m contract awarded to Phil Mickelson in 2022, which was the previous record holder. Rahm’s LIV contract runs until 2028 and reportedly includes a stake in the Saudi-backed tour.

But that’s not all. Rahm reportedly enjoys using one of the Saudi royal family’s private jets, as well as a team of 10 personal assistants who take care of the star and his family’s needs around the clock.

Jon Rahm’s earnings so far at LIV

In his rookie year on the track, Rahm has secured 11 top-10 finishes in 12 starts and is well on his way to leading the individual standings. His team, Legion XIII, is also closing in on the top spot in the team standings.

In addition to his signing-on fee, Rahm’s earnings were boosted significantly by his first event at Mayakoba, where he pocketed $1.25 million (£959,000). According to Golf Monthly, Rahm pocketed $525,000 (£402,000) for his eighth-place finish in Las Vegas, while a fifth-place finish in Jeddah earned him a cool $800,000 (£613,000).

Another tie for eighth place in Hong Kong earned Rahm $396,071 (£303,000). Several other significant paydays during the year, such as $833,333 (£638,000) in Miami and $920,000 (£705,000) in Adelaide, saw his wealth skyrocket to an incredible amount.

In total, the Spanish sensation is estimated to have banked a staggering $25.5m (£19.5m) during his short time in LIV. Rahm is currently just three points ahead of Niemann in the individual standings heading into this weekend’s tournament.

If he can overtake his Chilean rival, he will pocket another hefty payday while also trying to close the gap on the richest golfers in history.
