Applied Systems CEO Taylor Rhodes said the company has no immediate plans to expand into European markets.

the best growth in history

While Net applied 2024 At the conference in Nashville, Rhodes was asked if the software company plans to expand its European footprint beyond its current operations in the UK and Ireland.

While he said the company is not currently considering that, he said the company is considering other options.

Rhodes said: “We made the decision to call it Applied Systems Europe precisely because we wanted to keep our options open for the future.

“Whenever you get to a new geographical location, the last mile of the journey is always the hardest, and in the UK that last mile was very different to the US.

“In the future we may look further into Europe, but it’s not something we’re looking at right now.”

Growth in the UK

Rhodes added that while Applied has made a number of acquisitions over the past few years, there has only been one deal in the UK and Ireland in 2023.

However, he added that most of the growth had been organic and that the aim of the UK business was to create an offering that could compete on its own merits.

Rhodes added: “Applied Systems Europe CEO Tom Needs has the same rights as any other management team in the US.

“You can present us with interesting ideas for developing the company, and we will evaluate them.

“However, despite the investments we made in acquisitions, the vast majority of our growth was organic. We did not buy companies with large customer bases.

“In the UK, our strategy is simple: build a good solution and compete in the market on its merits.”
