The University of Texas at Arlington is preparing to host a unique event at the intersection of technology and healthcare.

UTA will host the fourth annual Texas Health Informatics Alliance conference on Friday, September 20, in the Bluebonnet Ballroom at the University Center. This year’s theme is Augmented Intelligence in Health Care.

“This promises to be an incredible conference where artificial intelligence (AI) and its transformative impact on our field will be well-described. We at UTA are honored to host this event,” said Marion Ball, Raj and Indra Nooyi Endowed Distinguished Chair in Bioengineering, Presidential Distinguished Professor, and executive director of the Center for Innovation in Health Informatics (formerly the Multi-Interprofessional Center for Health Informatics).

Panel discussions will focus on the latest achievements, challenges and ethical issues related to the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics and robotics in healthcare.

Guest speakers at the all-day conference will be:

  • Nora Cox, CEO of Texas e-Health Alliance
  • David Jaffray, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology and Digital Officer, Director, Oncology Data Science Institute, Professor of Radiation Physics and Imaging Physics, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center

The event is co-sponsored by UTHealth Houston, Texas State University, Texas Woman’s University and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
