Brookfield takes political heat over Carney-Trudeau ties

Pierre Poilievrethe leader of the Canadian Conservative Party and current favorite to win the next election, attacked the former central banker Mark Carney for agreeing to help Justin Trudeau on economic policy.

Carney, who is chairman of Brookfield Asset Management and head of its transformation investment group, is advising the prime minister’s Liberal Party on economic growth and productivity ahead of the next campaign, due to start in 2025.
