werewolf movie starring Shelley Duvall hits theaters in October

A trailer for the werewolf movie The Forest Hills, starring Shelley Duvall, has hit theaters next month

The legendary Shelley Duvall sadly passed away in July at the age of 75 – but shortly before her death, she returned to acting after a 20-year hiatus to star in a monster movie Forest Hills (and, by the way, the creature in question is a werewolf.) The film is now set to hit theaters in the U.S. and Canada October 4thand with that date just around the corner, a trailer Forest Hills is now online. You can watch it in the embed above.

Written and directed by: Scott Goldberg, Forest Hills tells a story a man who is plagued by nightmarish visions after suffering a head injury while camping in the Catskill forest.

Duvall, Chiko Mendez (Strangled by mothers), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Dee Wallace (Creatures), Felissa Rose (Overnight camp), Stacey Nelkin (Halloween III: Season of the Witch), Marianne Hagan (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers) and Linda Flores (Cops and thieves). Duvall’s character is “the mother of the mentally and emotionally disturbed Rico (Mendez), who serves as his inner voice.”

Goldberg told Deadline that he was inspired to cast Duvall in the role. Forest Hills because she “contributed to The Shining being an absolute masterpiece, giving it her all and performing in a way that really showed the fear and terror of a mother in isolation.

Goldberg has previously directed numerous short films, several documentaries (including the Scream Factory Blu-ray bonus feature) Underground: A Day of the Dead Look at Mines), and horror Massacre at a dead end.

Scott Hansen produced Forest Hills with Dreznick Goldberg Productions and Digital Thunderdome Studios. Goldberg is co-producer.
