App State returns to defeat ECU in devastating fashion

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – ECU fell to App State 21-19 after blowing a 16-point first half lead.

Jake Garcia threw for 226 yards and a touchdown, while Shavon Revel Jr. also had an interception and returned it to the house for a six-yard score in the first half.

From there, the Mountaineers scored 21 straight points and eventually maintained their advantage with a first down late in the period.

The Pirates haven’t beaten App State since 2012. Their next game will be against Liberty next Saturday.
