USAID provides Bangladesh with $202.25 million for governance and resilience

The United States Agency for International Development will award $202.25 million in grant funding across three sectors: good governance, social, human and economic opportunity, and resilience.

This grant will be awarded under the Sixth Amendment to the Development Goal Grant Agreement (DOAG).

The sixth amendment to the Protocol Act of the General Government of Bangladesh and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) signed the agreement today (September 15) at the government-owned Padma Guest House, a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance said.

AKM Shahabuddin, Additional Secretary, Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance, and Reed J Aeschliman, USAID Mission Director, signed the amendment on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh and USAID, respectively.

On September 27, 2021, the Government of Bangladesh and USAID signed a new DOAG agreement for 2021-2026.

In implementing DOAG, USAID has committed to contribute a total of $954 million. To date, USAID has contributed $425 million to the 5th Amendment.
