MHI ready to auction last 10 gigawatt-hours of ACC PLI system

The Centre has begun the auction process for the last 10 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of its Production Incentive Scheme (PLI) for advanced chemical cells (ACC) for grid-scale battery energy storage.

Although the allocation falls under the purview of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the auction will be conducted by the Ministry of Heavy Industry (MHI), Business Standard has learnt.

MHI plans to hold consultations with industry stakeholders and government bodies including NITI Aayog, Ministry of Power and MNRE in the coming month to ensure a smooth auction process and enhance ACC manufacturing capacity in India.
