Mazda CX-30, CX-50 and Mazda 3 Compacts recalled due to camera failure

Mazda is recalling 672 of its 2024 Mazda 3, CX-30 and CX-50 vehicles due to a front-facing camera failure that could prevent the automatic emergency braking system and lane-keeping assist system from working. That could increase the risk of crashes and injuries, the automaker said in an NHTSA report. Additionally, the headlights will not automatically adjust from high beam to low beam as intended, Mazda said.

Dealers will inspect and replace the front camera at no charge if necessary. Notification letters to owners are expected to be sent out on November 2, 2024. Owners can contact Mazda Customer Service at 1-800-222-5500, option 6. The Mazda number for this recall is 6824H.

Vehicles affected by the recall:

  • Mazda CX-30 2024 (528 vehicles)
  • 2025 Mazda CX-50 (2)

Porsche Taycan recalled due to incorrect headlight software

Porsche is recalling 954 of its 2024 Taycan electric sports cars because they may have been equipped with incorrect — and non-compliant — headlight control module software that could cause differences in parking light performance when the turn signals are turned on. That could make the car less visible and potentially increase the risk of a crash, the company said in an NHTSA report.

Dealers will update the headlamp control module software free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent out on November 1, 2024. Owners can contact Porsche Customer Service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche’s recall number is ARB4.

Volkswagen recalls ID.4 SUVs due to door handle defect

Volkswagen is recalling 98,806 2021-2024 ID.4 electric crossover SUVs because the door handles may allow water to enter the circuit board assembly, a defect that can cause the doors to open unexpectedly, Volkswagen said in a report filed with NHTSA. Open doors in a moving vehicle put occupants at risk of injury and could cause damage to objects and people outside the vehicle, the company said.

Volkswagen dealers will inspect and replace door handles as needed and update vehicle software free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent out on November 1, 2024. Owners can contact Volkswagen Customer Service at 1-800-893-5298. The Volkswagen number for this recall is 57J9. This recall expands on previous recall numbers 23V-312 and 23V-213. Vehicles previously repaired under 23V-312 and 23V-213 will need to undergo a new repair.

Vehicles affected by the recall:

  • Volkswagen ID.4 2021-2024
