Setapp Mobile Open Beta Adds More Apps for European iPhone Users

Joining the Setapp Mobile open beta requires iOS 17.4 or later and an EU-based Apple ID. New EU subscribers can get a seven-day free trial of the platform’s monthly “iOS Advanced” plan for $9.99/€9.49, which lets users download any iPhone app from both the Setapp Mobile iOS app and the Setapp desktop/web store. However, many of the apps offered are free to download via the Apple App Store. Users who joined the previous invite-only beta on other Setapp plans will need to upgrade or lose access on September 17.

Edge We found the process of actually installing apps through Setapp to be tedious in our initial hands-on review, but that’s pretty typical for these third-party iOS app platforms. The separate Setapp Mobile service, on the other hand, should be easier to use, letting users download iOS apps directly from their iPhones without going through any extra hoops.
