Lily Collins’ Ultra-Modest Nails Are Even Chicter Than Her Bob

It has become a tradition for Lily Collins to show off a new look at the premiere of each new season Emily in Paris. In season four, part one, it was a fresh bob. And with the arrival of the second part of the fourth installment of the season, the actor did it again.

But while everyone was focused on her ’20s-chic hairdo, I couldn’t help but stare at something else: a manicure that truly is the epitome of modesty. So much so, that it’s versatile enough to pair perfectly with Dior’s sexy black ensemble AND shiny gold Schiaparelli dress on Emily in Paris premieres in Paris and Rome.

So what’s the recipe for a low-key manicure like Lily Collins’?

  1. Length: The nails are not completely short, but slightly longer than the length of the finger.
  2. Form: Slightly rounded.
  3. Color: A nude shade, approximately the same shade as the natural nail.
  4. End: Very shiny, very elegant, very modest.
  5. Style: The atmosphere is very natural. The goal is an elegant, discreet manicure that is 100% suitable for any occasion. The color works well during the day, and the shine is not too shiny.

If you’re looking for a low-key Lily Collins manicure, tip number one is to avoid very bold or heavily pigmented shades. Nudes and simple pinks are your allies, as long as they have a natural and subtle shine finish.

When it comes to shape, don’t go too far beyond the finger and keep it slightly rounded. When painting your nail, don’t apply multiple coats. One coat should be enough to make the nail almost transparent. If the polish isn’t shiny enough, apply a top coat with a light sheen. This will also make the manicure last longer — a good thing, considering it’s so chameleon-like you’ll want to wear it all week long.
