The Leibovichs are back: Catch founders to head up recommerce for Shiperoo

Returns management logistics company Shiperoo has tapped Catch co-founders Gabby and Hezi Leibovich as directors of its new direct-to-consumer platform, which focuses on selling returned goods at discounted prices.

The Leibovich brothers are known as pioneers in the online retail industry, having co-founded and led numerous successful online businesses, including Catch of the Day, Scoopon, and Eatnow (now Menulog).

Shiperoo’s new platform aims to divert unnecessary waste from landfill while creating additional revenue streams for retailers.

Nishan Wijemanne, co-founder of Shiperoo, expressed confidence in the Leibovich brothers, describing them as people with an innovative mindset and bringing vast experience to the company.

“Their track record of building successful online businesses and their commitment to solving the pressing issues of excess inventory and waste in the e-commerce industry make them invaluable additions to our board,” said Wijemanne.

“Combining their knowledge and skills with ours creates an enviable combination that will allow us to tackle this growing industry challenge.”

With Shiperoo’s new re-commerce offering, consumers will have access to a wide range of discounted products that have been returned and are not suitable for resale as new.

Store categories include clothing, electronics, footwear, household goods and cosmetics.

Additionally, the platform will leverage existing AI-powered automation tools and same-day shipping to streamline retailers’ operations.

“The re-commerce space is filled with untapped potential,” Gabby added. “By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we can reduce waste and increase profitability for retailers. We look forward to tackling these challenges from both sides.”

Shiperoo’s advisory board also includes John King (former CEO of Myer), Glenn Keast (former COO of Cotton On Group) and Paul Greenberg (online retail entrepreneur and founder of NORA).
