Indian government sued for attempted assassination of US citizen

The Indian government has been sued in federal court for allegedly attempting to assassinate a Sikh separatist and a US citizen lawyer on US soil in an “unprecedented” attack.

The attack, for which the Indian government has denied responsibility, has complicated U.S.-India relations as the Biden administration seeks closer ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
