‘The Piano Lesson’ Cast Ready to Pay Tribute to Gotham Awards Band

Cast Malcolm WashingtonNetflix movie Piano lesson — John David Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Ray Fisher, Danielle Deadwyler, Michael Potts, Corey Hawkins AND Erykah Badu — will receive an ensemble tribute at the 2024 Gotham Awards, the Gotham Film & Media Institute announced Wednesday.

The honor — and several others to be announced — will be presented during the 34th Annual Gotham Awards Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Monday, December 2.

Recipients of the Ensemble Tribute Award, which was first presented in 2005 to “recognize a talented cast whose craft and chemistry captivate audiences on the big screen,” included: In the trap of war, Bubble, Winter’s Bone, Moonlight, Favorite AND The Trial of the Chicago Seven.

“Piano lesson is a stunning adaptation that brings August Wilson“The game comes alive with captivating cinematic art” Jeffrey Sharpexecutive director of the Gotham Film & Media Institute, said in a statement. “The extraordinary talent, effort and chemistry of this brilliant cast are at the heart of the film, elevating its moving story of family heritage. It is this kind of collaborative excellence that our tribute to the ensemble aims to honor.”

Piano lessonwhich recently had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, will be shown in select cinemas on November 8 and will be available on Netflix on November 22.
