Profile photo of the bargain buyer

An amateur investor looking for opportunities in every market, with a special focus on emerging markets. He admires great investors like Li Lu and Peter Lynch and is not afraid to go against the grain. Willing to buy any company at the right price and looks for low risk, high uncertainty bets. My goal is to share investment ideas and explain my thinking. It is good to keep an investment journal to track past successes and learn from failures. It is a good way to keep a scorecard and put my ideas out there for everyone to evaluate. Above all, I adopt an owner’s mindset and largely ignore macroeconomic noise. I am an investor, not an economist. Investors make money; economists make forecasts. My economic thinking is heavily influenced by the works of Henry Hazlitt, Friedrich Hayek, and Ludwig von Mises. I recently came across the legendary book Economics in One Lesson and was completely blown away by it. I have never seen such clear, logical economic thinking in such a concise format. In the future, readers may see a more Austrian economic mindset in my articles. I graduated from NYU Stern, with a BA in Business and a concentration in Finance.
