PM Modi in Maharashtra:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Wardha in Maharashtra today (September 20). He will attend the Prime Minister Vishwakarma National Programme at around 11:30 AM, celebrating one year of progress under Prime Minister Vishwakarma.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will issue certificates and loans to the beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma. Symbolising the tangible support extended to artisans under this programme, the Prime Minister will also distribute credits under PM Vishwakarma to 18 beneficiaries across 18 professions. As a tribute to their legacy and lasting contribution to society, he will issue a commemorative stamp to commemorate one year of progress under PM Vishwakarma.

Foundation stone laid for PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Park

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Amravati, Maharashtra. The 1,000-acre park is being developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as the state implementing agency. The Government of India has approved setting up of 7 PM MITRA Parks for the textile industry. The PM MITRA Parks are a major step forward in realising the vision of making India a global textile manufacturing and export hub. This will help create world-class industrial infrastructure that will attract large-scale investments, including foreign direct investment (FDI) and encourage innovation and job creation in the sector.

Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre Launch

The Prime Minister will launch the Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre scheme of the Maharashtra government. Skill development training centres will be set up in reputed colleges across the state to impart skills training to youth in the age group of 15 to 45 years, enabling them to become self-reliant and access various employment opportunities.

The Prime Minister will also launch the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme’. Under the scheme, early support will be provided to women-led startups in Maharashtra. Financial assistance up to ₹25 lakh will be provided.

25 per cent of all benefits under this scheme will be reserved for women from lower classes and economically weaker sections, as directed by the government.

This will help women-led startups become self-reliant and independent.
