“I will ensure that residents are freed from the unbearable stench emanating from the Jhuriwala landfill,” Garg said while campaigning in the constituency.

“Panchkula will emerge as one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly cities in the state,” he said, while criticising the Congress and the BJP for contributing to the woes of the residents of the trans-Ghaggar sectors.

He pointed out that the Congress government had initially acquired land in Jhuriwala for setting up a solid waste treatment plant and then started illegal dumping of garbage in Sector 23, which was later stopped by court orders.

Similarly, the BJP government continued its unfair practice by dumping municipal solid waste at Jhuriwala, which was also found illegal by the National Environment Tribunal (NGT).

On Thursday, AAP Haryana president Sushil Gupta and Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh inaugurated the party office in Sector 17, Panchkula. Gupta, speaking on the occasion, said that after Delhi and Punjab, the people of Haryana have decided that this time there will be a wave of change.

The Congress will provide residents resolutions at their door: Mohan

Assuring people of providing solutions to their problems at their doorstep, Congress candidate from Panchkula Chander Mohan on Thursday said, “People will no longer have to go to Chandigarh to do their work. The Congress government will reach their village and solve their problems. People’s problems are my problems, it is my job to solve them.”

Chander Mohan, campaigning in the Panchkula segment, said, “Seeing the last 10 years of BJP MLA’s tenure in Panchkula, people have become disillusioned with BJP. Congress workers who had left the party and joined BJP due to some reason have returned. Congress will form the next government in Haryana and end 10 years of BJP’s misrule.”

“The BJP has forgotten to develop Panchkula and its surrounding areas for the last 10 years. Even basic issues like construction of roads, construction of bus stands have not been resolved till now, they have been making only false promises,” Mohan said, while claiming that the Congress has fulfilled all its promises.

BJP’s manifesto roadmap for development of entire Haryana: Gupta

BJP candidate from Panchkula constituency Gian Chand Gupta on Thursday said the party manifesto has a plan for the development of the entire state of Haryana.

“The BJP has implemented the resolutions passed in 2014 and 2019 and will definitely implement all the resolutions passed in 2024 as well,” Gupta said.

Targeting the Congress, Gupta said, “Congress makes sensational claims during elections and later throws out its manifesto. BJP does what it says.”

He alleged that “the BJP government was running many schemes in the interest of traders who were benefiting from these schemes. ‘Gundaraj’, prevalent during the Congress era, was ended by the BJP government.”
