Cadmatic appoints Detlef Schneider as CEO

Cadmatic, a company that creates software solutions for digital design, engineering and 3D information management, announced that it has appointed Dr. Detlef Schneider as CEO, effective October 7, 2024. Schneider succeeds Jukka Rantala, who led Cadmatic for 23 years.

Schneider has many years of experience in various roles in the engineering software industry, holding management positions in both private and publicly traded companies in industries closely related to Cadmatic’s business. Schneider, originally from Germany, most recently served as CEO of Allplan, a company of the Nemetschek Group, a global leader in software serving the construction industry.

“I am pleased to welcome Detlef Schneider to Cadmatic to continue the successful work of Jukka Rantala,” said Olli Manner, Chairman of the Management Board. “Detlef’s extensive experience will support our growth goals, and his diverse background will be beneficial to the development of customer relationships, business models and our products. Detlef has much to offer on Cadmatic’s growth path.”

Schneider said: “It is an honor to lead Cadmatic into a successful future. Cadmatic develops superior engineering and information management products for the marine, process and construction industries, with an impressive list of customers worldwide. I look forward to working with Cadmatic employees and customers to further accelerate growth and create long-term value for all stakeholders by delivering innovative products to improve our customers’ businesses.”

Rantala has led Cadmatic for 23 years, during which time Cadmatic has grown from a 12-person export company developing 3D plant design software into a global software company. Cadmatic has 330 employees serving customers in 60 countries and has 21 offices in 17 countries. Cadmatic’s product portfolio has expanded to include software required for designing ships, industrial plants and buildings, as well as for managing digital information from design to construction and operation.

According to Manner, Rantala has committed to putting his know-how and experience at the disposal of Cadmatic and the new CEO. At the general meeting of Cadmatic shareholders, it will be proposed that Rantala be elected as a member of the Cadmatic board.

“I am incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished. Now is the right time for the next CEO to take the reins and lead our operations forward toward our strategic goals. I look forward to contributing to the company’s growth and development well into the future,” said Rantala.
