CAR Studios Wins Trophy in DOST Dev’t Tilt App

STUDENTS from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) took first place in an app development competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology-National Academy of Science and Technology (DOST-NAST).

Leo Dacumos coached the winning students from the Philippine Science High School in the Central African Republic. They were Lloy Gladwin, Jonavel Adawe, Samantha Samson and Yael Solimen.

Their winning project, titled Telling Science Top Down, was recognised for its creative way of telling science stories using an app.

The entry won first prize in Salinlahi Evolution, an app development competition organized by DOST-NAST in collaboration with Philippine Amusement and Entertainment Corp. (PAEC).

“Team Technolikha’s game, Telling Science Top Down, aims to solve problems concerning the biosphere, with a focus on land and water. The game features a series of puzzles that the player, Dr. Likha, must solve. The character is inspired by the concept that individual action and participation play a vital role in creating change and ultimately saving a decaying world,” the Philippine Information Agency said in a statement.
