Hayward police seize 3D printer used to make unnumbered guns, silencers, explosive containers and 5.6 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms

HAYWARD — A local man is facing charges of manufacturing a firearm, possessing a silencer, selling hallucinogens and possessing explosive device components in a case that began with a report of a domestic dispute.

The eight criminal charges include a mix of felony and misdemeanor charges, all related to the search of a home on Pompano Avenue in Hayward, where police say they seized 5.6 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms and nearly half an ounce of LSD, along with other hallucinogens, including DMT.

Court documents say the 24-year-old resident of the home allegedly told police he made weapons as a hobby using a 3D printer. Officers were called to the scene after a report that the man was acting erratically and arguing with a family member.
