Raipur Daily | RMC aims to strengthen startup ecosystem

The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) co-working centre and its initiatives to promote startups support entrepreneurs by providing opportunities to local youth and startups. Venkatesh Shukla, an entrepreneur who played a key role in formulating Startup India, appreciated the RMC’s efforts to strengthen the prospects of startups by providing mentors and advisors. The co-working centre, which seeks to integrate startups with incubators and system integrators, was earlier recognised as a unique initiative in the country by the Ministry of Urban Development.

Global cancer treatment experts meet at BMC Raipur

Global cancer experts gather at Balco Medical Centre (BMC), Naya Raipur to demonstrate advanced treatments. Live surgical demonstrations were held for surgeons as part of the annual BMC Cancer Conclave. The event provided a platform to share insights on cutting-edge oncology practices. Leading oncologists from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai highlighted the use of ‘augmented reality’ to perform complex surgeries. Three-dimensional surgical planning in surgeries improves surgeons’ understanding of the tumour and surrounding anatomy, leading to greater accuracy in treatment.

Landscape renewal policy to be accelerated

In a significant step towards landscape restoration, the panchayat & rural development department held an extensive deliberation on a policy dialogue session, which was attended by representatives of 10 departments and 11 social organisations. Chief Secretary Niharika Barik emphasised the need for further research to gather evidence on landscape restoration work and sustainable development goals. Chhattisgarh is among the top three states in terms of opening up opportunities for landscape restoration. The state, where 82% of the farmers are small and marginal, will get livelihood opportunities through landscape restoration efforts.
