Wahiduddin urges Switzerland to cut tariffs to boost bilateral trade

Swiss Ambassador Reto Renggli expressed his interest in helping Bangladesh solve various problems in the economic sector, especially in the insurance sector

Planning Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud called on Switzerland to reduce customs tariffs in relevant sectors to boost bilateral trade.

“We need to expand technical education to increase productivity and competitiveness in the global market, and Switzerland can play a significant role in helping us in this area,” the adviser said at a meeting with Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Renggli at the ministry today (September 22).

The meeting was also attended by the deputy head of mission in Dhaka, Corinne Henchoz Pignani.

During the discussion, the Swiss Ambassador informed the Advisor about Switzerland’s activities in the areas of human rights, labour law and climate change.

He expressed interest in helping Bangladesh solve various problems in the economic sector, especially in the insurance sector, where he sees opportunities for cooperation.

The Planning Advisor thanked the Ambassador for Switzerland’s continued support to Bangladesh.
