Music Tectonics Music Tech Startup Competition Finalists Announced






(HYPEBOTS) – The music technology startup competition “Swimming with Narwhals” at the Music Tectonics conference has announced its finalists for 2024.

The conference, now in its sixth year, saw a record number of entries from music technology startups that are using innovative technology solutions for everything from facilitating studio rehearsals and bookings, to automating music marketing, to streamlining online collaboration.

Each of the selected startups will present itself publicly at the conference in front of a panel of judges, which will include investors. Andrew Kahn (Crush Ventures) and Rishi Patel (Plus eight equity partners).

Finalists 2024

  • DAWn Sound: While other DAWs force creators to follow their own guidelines and sacrifice their workflow, DAWn offers live multiplayer collaboration that lets creators meet them where they are and opens up a new world of online music co-creation.
  • Soloist makes practicing, especially practicing alone, much more enjoyable and accessible for any instrument and style.
  • Sounddigital space has developed a proprietary method of sharing space that focuses on audio creators and uses reusable credits to take studio booking to the next level.
  • un:hurd music is a music marketing tool that enables artists and record labels to make more effective marketing decisions through tailored, platform-agnostic, data-driven recommendations and campaigns.

The four finalists will showcase their products at Music Tectonics at the Santa Monica Pier Carousel’s “Startup Carousel” on October 22, and will present their final proposals in person on October 23. Finalists have two chances to win – through audience voting and jury selection.

“We’re always so impressed with the pool of startups that apply to Swimming with Narwhals. There’s so much energy and passion in music tech right now, in all parts of the tech ecosystem that encompass music, and our finalists reflect that,” he explains.
