Rotary Clubs organize “Heartathon” in the city

Rotary District 3201, 18 Rotary Clubs of Coimbatore, SPT Hospital and Coimbatore District Athletic Association organised a walking, jogging, running, jogging and walking event ‘Pulse Heartathon’ in Coimbatore on Sunday to create awareness about lifestyle diseases affecting heart health among youngsters. A press release said the participants learnt to gradually increase their heart rate and then gradually reduce it to strengthen their hearts.

Siruthuli receives social impact award

Siruthuli received the Social Impact Award 2024 in the Sustainable Environment category at the Social Impact Conference and Awards organized by CSR Universe.

A press release said the award highlights the success of Siruthula’s flagship initiative, Project Nanneer, due to its strategic, sustainable and scalable approach, innovative solutions and exceptional community engagement.

The project represents a significant expansion of Siruthuli’s operations in multiple districts in Tamil Nadu, addresses major environmental issues and focuses on the rehabilitation of traditional water bodies in districts like Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Karur, Erode and Cuddalore, which have been depending on these water bodies for drinking water and irrigation for long, the release said.

Codissia organizes Startups Demo Day

CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre (CDIIC) recently organised a Startups Demo Day, which was attended by 18 startups incubated at CDIIC. Sridhar Vembu, CEO, Zoho Corporation, urged the participants to focus on the importance of indigenous innovation in strengthening India’s defence capabilities. Representatives from over 20 organisations, including key defence stakeholders, government agencies and industry players, participated in creating an ecosystem conducive to collaboration and investment. As many as 10 startups incubated at CDIIC presented their ideas for investment by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for a potential seed funding of ₹2 crore.
