Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold throws his third TD pass of the game

Sam Darnold passed the ball to Justin Jefferson for a score for Minnesota, and moments later Darnold connected with Aaron Jones for a touchdown for the Vikings.

Coming out of halftime, the Vikings had the ball first, and what happened? Darnold helped lead Minnesota down the field and found Jalen Nailor for a four-yard touchdown, giving the Vikings a 21-0 lead early in the third quarter.

Darnold’s career record is four touchdowns in a single game. The Vikings’ first-year gunslinger has nearly two full quarters left to at least match his career record.

Darnold has 152 yards and three scores in two quarters and one possession. Justin Jefferson was his target again, catching six catches for 81 yards and a score. Nailor warmed up on that last drive and now has three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings defense also played great against the Texans, not allowing any big plays, keeping everything in front of them and putting pressure on CJ Stroud.
