PM Modi attends ‘fruitful’ tech CEO roundtable in New York

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a “fruitful” roundtable with CEOs of leading US technology companies where he highlighted India’s growth prospects and discussed initiatives to foster bilateral cooperation across sectors.

The meeting, held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel on Sunday during the second leg of Modi’s three-day visit to the US, was attended by CEOs of major US companies working on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, quantum computers and semiconductors.

“I had a fruitful roundtable with CEOs of technology companies in New York, discussing aspects related to technology, innovation and more. I also highlighted the progress made by India in this space. I am happy to see tremendous optimism about India,” Modi said in a post on X.

The conference, organized by the School of Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), was attended by CEOs of leading American technology companies, including Google CEO Pichai and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayena.

“Further cementing technology and business ties. Prime Minister @narendramodi interacted with top US technology leaders and CEOs at a roundtable organised by Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Engineering, New York. Prime Minister highlighted India’s growth prospects and discussed initiatives to foster collaboration and innovation across sectors,” read an official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs in a post on X.

Earlier in the day, Modi also addressed the Indian diaspora gathered at a packed Nassau Veterans Coliseum on Long Island, New York.

Modi arrived in New York on Sunday after attending the Quad Leaders’ Summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday.
