WhatsApp themes are limited to light and dark mode, but what if we told you that the app will soon have different color themes?

WhatsApp users will soon have the ability to change the theme of their chat screen and will no longer be limited to normal and dark modes. Yes, the messenger is working on a new feature that may even include a color picker based on which a theme will be created and applied to all chat screens for the user.

WhatsApp Chat Theme Update: What We Know

Details about the upcoming feature come from WaBetaInfo, who claims that the Android beta version of the tool is being pushed through and should be available to the testing group soon. The new feature shows multiple theme colors that can be applied to the chat screen, which will be visible when you’re chatting with a friend or someone else. We still don’t have a theme selector in our beta, but we hope to have that soon.

You’ll still have the dark theme available for the messaging app that many WhatsApp users love, but the addition of more colors to the mix will certainly be a bright sight. WhatsApp is busy adding new shades and features, but for now, it seems to be limited to Android users, and iOS users may have to wait until a public version is made available in the near future.

WhatsApp is also adding new AI tools to the messaging app in the form of Meta AI, which has already proven popular with millions of users in India, according to Meta. The company also mentions that it wants to reduce the number of spam messages that WhatsApp users receive by adopting strict policies and using data to deliver content at the right time and to the right person.

WhatsApp spam has become an issue that annoys people, and Meta really needs to find a balance between monetizing the platform and alienating its users.
