Major update release date to Stardew Valley on other platforms has finally been announced. After more than half a year, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone could finally confirm when version 1.6 will hit consoles and mobile devices: will happen on November 4th. This also applies to the Nintendo Switch edition, which the developer mentioned in a response to a user’s post on X.

Barone also confirmed that the console version will include all of the minor PC fixes released since the 1.6 update, including the as-yet-unreleased 1.6.9 patch (which will release on PC around the same time as the main console update), and he reiterated his advice from March: While some content will still be available in old save files, it’s best to start over after the update goes live.

Fans Stardew Valley long had to wait for this information. Update 1.6 was released on PC on March 19. The new game update was a significant improvement, and later “ConcernedApe” released several minor patches that not only fixed new (or old) bugs, but also introduced several new features.

The announcement of the premiere date is not only pleasing SV fans playing on consoles and mobile devices. The work on the conversion took the developer away from his new game: Haunted Chocolatier. It is likely that after the release of version 1.6, in addition to the PC version, Barone and the developers supporting him will continue to polish the console and mobile versions Stardew Valley for a long time. However, after that time, the creator will be able to return to Haunted Chocolatier. Unless worried fans force him to take a short break.

He graduated with a master’s degree in Polish Philology from the University of Warsaw, writing his master’s thesis on that very subject. He began his adventure with GRYOnline.pl in 2015, writing in the Newsroom, and later also in the film and technology sections (he also co-created the Encyclopedia). He has been interested in video games (and not only) for years. He started with platform games and is still a big fan of them (including Metroidvania). He is also interested in card games (including paper games), fighting games, soulslikes and basically everything related to games as such. He is delighted with pixel characters from games dating back to the Game Boy era (if not older).
