Türkiye reiterates support for Bangladesh’s caretaker government

Both sides discussed potential assistance from the Turkish government in treating students and participants who were injured during the Anti-Discrimination Movement

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen reiterated that his country intends to support the caretaker government of Bangladesh in its reform initiatives.

As reported in a press release issued by the ministry, he said these words during a meeting with Foreign Minister Md Jashim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today (September 23).

During the meeting, the envoy handed over to Jashim a letter from Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Nuh Yilmaz addressed to Jashim, congratulating him on his appointment as Foreign Minister.

The Ambassador recalled the recent telephone conversation between the President of Turkey and the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, reaffirming the commitment of the Turkish government to expand cooperation with the caretaker government of Bangladesh.

Both sides discussed potential assistance from the Turkish government in the treatment of students and participants who were injured during the Anti-Discrimination Movement.

Both the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the current progress in bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and stressed the importance of increasing the volume of bilateral trade.

The Turkish Ambassador also informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the activities of the Turkish delegation which provided humanitarian aid to people affected by the floods in Bangladesh.

The Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for Turkey’s humanitarian gesture towards flood victims in Bangladesh.
