‘What3words’ Becomes Potentially Life-Saving Location App in Rolette County

ROLETTE COUNTY, N.D. (KMOT) – Rolette County Emergency Services is encouraging the public to download the what3words location app, which could save a life.

This is an app that allows users to share their exact location in the event of an accident so that they can reach them faster.

It works by virtually dividing the map into a grid of 10-by-10-foot squares, with each square having a unique combination of words.

This means every park, bench or parking space has its own unique and easy-to-read address, consisting of just three words.

In North Dakota it is used in Cavalier, Grand Forks and Rolette counties.

The application can be downloaded free of charge to your smartphone.
