Meet Thalia and Tamara Smart from Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The second season Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast another important role.

Tamara Smart (Netflix director) Resident Evil) joins the series based on author Rick Riordan’s Greek mythology novels as Thalia Grace, the demigoddess daughter of Zeus. She will return for a second season, which is in production and is set to premiere in 2025.

Smart is the latest addition to the Season 2 cast. In Riordan’s novels, Thalia is a friend of Annabeth and Luke who sacrifices herself so they can safely reach Camp Half-Blood. Zeus intervenes to stop Thalia from dying by turning her into a tree that anchors a protective curtain around the camp. She first appears (in human form) in the second book, Sea of ​​Monsterswhich serves as the source material for season two.

“Thalia Grace is one of the most important characters in the Percy Jackson universe, so casting her right was key,” said Riordan, who is an executive producer on the series. “Thalia is a powerful warrior, an incredibly loyal friend, and a demigod rebel with a very ‘punk’/‘angry-against-the-machine’ sensibility. As soon as we saw Tamara Smart in the role, we knew we had found our daughter of Zeus. She was, no pun intended, electrifying.”

Smart also shares a relationship with the late Lance Reddick, who played Zeus in the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians; the two worked together on Resident Evil.
