Queensland government to give Star Entertainment a tax lifeline

The Queensland government is expected to join the rescue of Star Entertainment as the casino operator grapples with the threat of a multi-million dollar tax bill, giving new CEO Steve McCann more time to turn the group around.

According to Street Talk, the State Government, led by Steven Miles, advised by law firm McCullough Robertson Lawyers, has almost agreed to convert the debt owed by the group to the Treasury into a loan.
