Univision Town Meetings with Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

It’s unclear whether there will be another debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, but both candidates have agreed to appear in another high-profile televised event: a town hall hosted by Spanish-language media giant TelevisaUnivision.

The media company says both the Trump and Harris campaigns have agreed to town meetings next month. Trump’s town meeting (titled Los Latinos Preguntan… Donald Trump’s Response) is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8 at 10:00 PM and will take place in Miami, Florida. Harris town hall (Los Latinos Preguntan… Kamala Harris responds) will take place on Thursday, October 10th at 10:00 PM in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TV At the point Presenter Enrique Acevedo will moderate both town hall meetings, whose audiences will be made up of undecided Latino voters.

Univision and its ViX streaming service will broadcast the meetings with Spanish translation, while the full English-language version will be available on the Noticias Univision YouTube channel.

“Noticias Univision operates as a two-way bridge: we convey every voice in our community while also conveying the concerns of Latinos to those in power,” said Daniel Coronell, president of Noticias Univision, in a statement. “There are more than 36 million Latinos eligible to vote in the United States, making them the largest minority in the country with the ability to influence the outcome of the race for the White House and the future of our nation,” he added.

It’s entirely possible that TelevisaUnivision’s town halls are the closest thing voters have to an unscripted appearance by the candidates before the election, and another debate is highly uncertain. Harris previously accepted a CNN debate, while Trump seemed to reject another debate after the first face-off between the two.
