Hezbollah claims responsibility for rocket attack on Mossad headquarters near Tel Aviv

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for carrying out a rocket attack on Wednesday morning on the headquarters of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, in Tel Aviv.

The Lebanese paramilitary organization touted the use of the Qader 1 ballistic missile in a post on the social media and messaging platform Telegram. The group’s attack was in retaliation for an Israeli operation last week in which pagers and wireless devices exploded, killing 30 people and wounding thousands, according to reports.

“In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in support of their heroic and honorable resistance, and in defense of Lebanon and its people, the Islamic Resistance Movement launched a Qader 1 ballistic missile on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024, at 6:30 AM, targeting the Mossad headquarters in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, which is the headquarters responsible for the assassination of leaders and the blowing up of pagers and wireless devices,” the message reads.

No casualties were reported in the Hezbollah attack. Israeli officials said a rocket was fired in Lebanon, but the attack was thwarted before any damage was done.

“Following the sound of sirens in the Tel Aviv and Netanya areas, one surface-to-surface missile was identified coming from Lebanon and intercepted by the IDF air defense systems,” an IDF spokesman said.
