Google accuses Microsoft of abusing dominant position in EU cloud market

Google has escalated its legal dispute with Microsoft Corp. over the lucrative cloud services market, accusing the U.S. software giant of abusing its dominant market position in a formal complaint filed with the EU’s antitrust watchdog.

The Alphabet Inc. unit alleged that Microsoft’s licensing terms for its Azure cloud services restrict customers from accessing competing platforms, including Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services. Microsoft’s conduct amounts to an abuse of its dominant position under EU law, according to a summary of the complaint.
