Infosys to build tech hub for Polestar in Bengaluru: Rediff Moneynews

Infosys partners with Polestar to set up a global technology centre in Bengaluru that will focus on developing software for electric vehicles, infotainment systems, ADAS systems and cloud digital services.

New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI) IT major Infosys has entered into a partnership with Swedish electric car brand Polestar to create a foundation for the brand to develop in-car infotainment systems, electrical/electronics software and engineering, user experience and digital cloud services.

As part of the collaboration, Infosys will set up a global technology centre for Polestar at its development facility in Bengaluru, regulatory filings said.

“The purpose of this center is to deliver software for electric vehicles (EVs) and validate it in multiple areas, including infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and telematics,” the release reads.

It will support Polestar’s product management, customer engagement, enterprise solutions, and accelerate digital services delivered directly to consumers through cloud-native development, testing, and data engineering solutions, it added.

Infosys said it will tap in-tech, its most recent acquisition, a provider of R&D engineering services, to complement the collaboration.

“Polestar is starting a new chapter in our global company structure with our partner Infosys in Bengaluru. We look forward to building automotive expertise at the Polestar Tech Hub to support our growing vehicle portfolio and new model launches,” said Sven Bauer, Head of Software at Polestar.

Shares of Infosys closed at Rs 1,896 apiece on the BSE on Wednesday, down 0.09 per cent from its previous close.
