Tim Roth Joins Peaky Blinders Film

EXCLUSIVE: Oscar nominee Tim Roth has become the latest big name to join the cast of the Netflix series Peaky Blinders a film that continues to shape up as a remarkable event. The prolific English actor will join star Cillian Murphy, as well as Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan in Tom Harper’s highly anticipated feature-length extension of the BAFTA-winning series.

Details about Roth’s role are being kept under wraps, as are those regarding Ferguson and Keoghan, which Deadline exclusively reported over the past few weeks.

Oscar winner Murphy returns to his iconic role as Tommy Shelby, leader of the titular Birmingham gangster family, with production set to begin before the end of the year.

The epic sequel to the award-winning saga is being written by series creator Steven Knight. He will produce alongside Caryn Mandabach, Murphy and Guy Heeley. Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren and David Mason are executive producers. The film is being produced in association with BBC Film.

Knight recently praised the “incredible” cast at the RTS convention in London, noting that the film “is set in World War II and is really good.”

Roth earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the 1995 film. Rob RoyHis many credits also include films by Quentin Tarantino.
