Startup Redbird launches a data analysis platform based on artificial intelligence

Venture-backed startup Redbird Software Inc. sales today fired an analytics platform, also called Redbird, that uses artificial intelligence to help companies find useful patterns in their data.

The product milestone comes about two years after the company closed a $7.6 million seed round backed by Y Combinator. Redbird says it has tripled its workforce since the investment. At the same time, it has built a client base that includes companies such as Mondelez International Inc. and Google LLC.

Redbird positions its platform as an alternative to established business analytics tools such as Tableau. The platform includes artificial intelligence features that enable employees to analyze business data using natural language suggestions. According to Redbird, the ChatGPT-like interface eliminates the need for specialized technical knowledge necessary to use competing tools.

“True self-service analytics has proven to be insufficient for organizations, and the reality is complex data pipelines, dashboards and background analytics that require technical skills to execute,” said Redbird CEO Erin Tavgac (pictured right with co-founder and COO Deren Tavgac. )

The company provides its platform with connectors to popular cloud applications such as Salesforce. Databricks, LikeWeb and many other analytics tools are also supported. Companies can use Redbird connectors to automate the task of pulling data into the analytics platform for processing.

Once the raw data is transferred to the software, analysts can search for erroneous records and remove them. For example, you can delete sales records that appear more than once in your dataset. Such duplicate items can occur when two applications from which a company sends information to Redbird maintain separate versions of the same file.

Once errors are removed from a data set, analysts can standardize it into a common format to facilitate analysis. Different business records are often stored in different ways: some company sales journals may include the closing time of a transaction, while others may lack this information. Removing such formatting differences makes it easier for analytics tools to analyze your data.

The Redbird platform allows users to perform analytics using natural language prompts. For example, employees can feed supply chain data into an AI model to find optimization opportunities. Redbird also supports other data analysis methods that are suitable for tasks such as predicting customer demand.

Once the analysis is complete, the platform can automatically transform the results into a data visualization. Redbird can generate pie charts, maps, and various other graphs. It can also generate a natural language explanation of what a given chart displays, and package the data into a PowerPoint presentation.

For users with more advanced requirements, Redbird provides the ability to perform analyzes using SQL and Python. The latter language contains a large number of libraries or ready-made code modules for performing advanced mathematical operations. These libraries can help you perform data analysis tasks, such as generating revenue forecasts.

Redbird says its customer base has grown sevenfold since its seed round in 2022. The software maker currently counts eight Fortune 50 companies among its clients. Redbird revealed today that it is also in the process of bringing “some of the largest” U.S. government agencies to its platform.
