Warzone players are making the decision to “consolidate” their playlist options

Ahead of the release of Black Ops 6 on October 23, Raven Software limited the selection of playlists in Warzone, which left players furious.

Warzone changes weekly with different maps, modes, and team sizes. For example, there may be a week where solo play is not available in Rebirth or Vondel is not available in the map rotation. Players have criticized this system because there is always a risk that their favorite method of playing will be removed.

It’s even worse when you don’t have your preferred playlist option for weeks. In February, Raven Software addressed these concerns and assured fans: “Our goal is always to attract as wide a range of players as possible throughout the season, so there is something for everyone.”

Fans questioned the validity of this promise when the development team announced that they were “consolidating” the current playlist selection by removing trios and duos from Battle Royale, and solos and trios will not be available in Resurgence until further notice.

So for the last Warzone playlist update up to BO6, Urikztsan will only support solos, quads, and looting quads. Meanwhile, Resurgence will feature a pairs and quad map rotation, and Resurgence Island will feature trios in ranked.

“They will literally lose tens of thousands of players just because they don’t provide the right modes for everyone,” Warzone Loadout argued. “This may be one of the worst decisions I have ever seen in this space.”

“You’re essentially abandoning core branches of your game and giving no real explanation when you make a change,” Westie added.

Raven Software has not specified how long this change will be in effect, but community members are concerned that this decision will have a negative impact on the future of the title.

“This just leads me to believe that Warzone player numbers are much lower than we all think,” theorizes CoD content creator BearPig.

For now, Warzone players will have to make do with the available team sizes, but that will be difficult for those who don’t have a group of friends to play with.
