UFC reaches new settlement in antitrust lawsuit

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has reached a new settlement with the parties to its antitrust lawsuit.

Dana White

As you may have heard, the UFC is facing two antitrust lawsuits – the Le case, which covers fighters from 2010 to 2017, and the Johnson case, which covers fighters from 2017. A $335 million settlement was previously agreed to in both cases, but Judge Richard Boulware of the U.S. District Court in Nevada rejected the deal.

The initial goal was to seek compensation ranging from $894 million to $1.6 billion. Boulware believed the final $335 million was not an appropriate amount considering the amount some plaintiffs would receive.

However, it has now been confirmed that a new settlement of $375 million has been agreed. This figure applies only to the Le case, which would leave the Johnson case open to pursuing its own claims.
