Trump demands that Nancy Pelosi be investigated for selling visas

Former President Donald Trump demanded that attorneys general in GOP-dominated states investigate the former speaker Nancy Pelosi because her husband sold Visa shares.

Paul Pelosi sold off shares months before the federal government sued the company in an antitrust lawsuit that accused the lending giant of monopolistic practices.

According to Fox Business, Pelosi sold 2,000 shares on July 1 for about $500,000. However, it is not known whether Pelosi made any profit from the deal. The Justice Department announced its lawsuit against Visa earlier this week.

During a rally in Michigan on Friday, Trump falsely claimed that Pelosi had sold Visa stock the day before the Justice Department announced the decision. He then demanded an investigation of the former speaker and her husband.

TRUMP: So I don’t care much about this stuff, but the visa failed because the government stepped in. The government filed a large lawsuit against Visa. Nancy and her husband sold their shares the day before the announcement.

(CROWD BOOMS)

TRUMP: Nancy Pelosi. So why don’t we set up an AG somewhere, maybe in Republican territory, and why don’t we force them there to do a little investigation? I sold Visa shares! Are you listening? They’re probably turning off the cameras already.
