Investment promotion events are being organized in the Xuhui district of Shanghai in Paris to attract French companies

PARIS, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) — An investment promotion event was held in Paris on Friday to showcase the huge development potential of Shanghai’s Xuhui district and encourage French enterprises to make further investments.

The event, titled “Xuhui and France together for a common future”, attracted over 100 participants from the political, business and cultural sectors from China and France.

Wang Hua, head of Xuhui District, emphasized the deep-rooted ties between Xuhui District and France, which date back more than a century. Wang described Xuhui’s current focus on high-quality development, improving the level of openness and increasing the district’s competitiveness.

He stressed that Xuhui has created an extremely supportive business environment, characterized by streamlined administrative processes and policies aimed at fostering innovation and attracting foreign investment.

Wang outlined Xuhui’s plans to leverage its strengths in technology and industrial innovation, combine technological progress with industrial development to drive future growth, and become a leader in sectors such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits and life sciences. He welcomed French and European companies to explore opportunities in Xuhui, highlighting the district’s attractiveness as a prime location for international businesses.

About 140 French companies already operate in Xuhui, including companies such as Valeo and Peugeot Citroen, and investments from France amounted to over 900 million US dollars. In May this year, French cultural and tourism giant Puy du Fou launched its first Asian project “SAGA” in the district, highlighting Xuhui’s growing role as a center for cultural and tourism innovation, he said.

French company executives at the event spoke highly of the open spirit of cooperation and cooperation in the Xuhui district, as well as the strong government support that made it an ideal base for international enterprises looking to expand in the Chinese market.

During the event, memorandums of understanding were signed between Xuhui District and key French institutions. During the event, the Xuhui-France Investment Promotion Service Center in Shanghai was officially inaugurated, marking a new milestone in the economic cooperation between Xuhui and France.
