While Lady Gaga’s engagement to Michael Polansky was confirmed during the 2024 Olympics, the news wasn’t supposed to come out this way.

But the Grammy winner doesn’t seem bothered by the fact that it was accidentally made public in July, when the politician’s TikTok posted a video of her introducing her longtime partner as her “fiancé” to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at a crowded Olympic event.

“The prime minister had his people filming us greeting each other, and they caught me saying, ‘Oh, that’s my fiancé,'” Gaga said on the Sept. 27 episode of the “Graham Norton Show.” “And I tried to keep it a secret, but then it was announced to everyone. But it was a lot of fun.”

When the engagement news was confirmed, rumors were already swirling that the two were planning to get married, as the “Shallow” singer was photographed wearing a giant diamond ring on her ring finger in April. The 38-year-old told Graham Norton that her partner proposed to her on the first day of this month – April Fool’s Day.

“I actually thought he was joking, but he wasn’t,” Gaga said. – But it was really nice.

She and Polansky, a tech investor, first sparked romance rumors when they were photographed kissing at a 2020 New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas.

The following February, Gaga kicked off their relationship on Instagram hot when they attended the Super Bowl together. Earlier this month, they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the premiere of “Joker: Folie à Deux” at the Venice Film Festival. Michael also joined Gaga at the film’s recent UK premiere on September 25.

Her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, introduced the lovebirds.

“She said, ‘I just met your husband,’” Gaga told Access Hollywood in an interview published on September 23. “And I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!'”

Lady Gaga shares all the details of her romance with fiancé Michael Polanski. The “Applause” singer was featured on the cover of Vogue’s October 2024 issue and told the website that she and her fiancé met in 2019 through her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, who runs Born This Fundacja Droga.

The Oscar winner, who was previously engaged to Christian Carino and Taylor Kinney, later took up the offer to introduce her to Polansky, who co-founded the Parker Foundation with Napster co-founder Sean Parker.

“He was at a birthday party at Sean Parker’s house,” Gaga said. “He was simply the most amazing man I have ever met. We talked for about three hours and then I couldn’t find him, but then he called me.

They met during isolation at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We had this incredible chapter of weird kind of normality that is necessary for any relationship to really thrive,” Polansky said in an interview published September 5 with Vogue. They both disliked spending time “walking, making coffee, hanging out with their dogs, and reading books together.”

He continued: “She was used to the isolation due to her fame and was able to take it calmly. I think she loved the chance to slow down.”
