Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann infected with leptospirosis

CHANDIGARH: Bhagwant Mann has tested positive leptospirosis– according to the daily medical bulletin published by a private hospital in Mohali, where the prime minister has been undergoing treatment since Wednesday evening.
“As suspected at the time of admission to tropical feverblood tests for leptospirosis were positive. The Prime Minister has already received appropriate antibiotics. All clinical symptoms and pathological tests showed satisfactory improvement,” reads the medical bulletin of Dr RK Jaswal, director and head of the hospital’s cardiology department.
Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease caused by the bacterium Leptospira, which can be found in contaminated water or soil.
“Signs of improvement”
Dr Jaswal said he examined CM on Saturday and it showed signs of significant improvement in clinical parameters.
“CM Mann also responded well to treatment for the increase in pulmonary artery pressure. Currently, all the prime minister’s vital parameters are fully stable, he said.
Mann was admitted to hospital with symptoms of pulmonary arteritis, which caused pressure on his heart and fluctuations in blood pressure.
Various tests were performed to assess CM’s health, and doctors discovered signs of inflammation in his pulmonary artery.
