Thompson RCMP investigating after shots were fired at 2 locations

RCMP in Thompson, Mann. is investigating two shootings that occurred within an hour Saturday evening.

According to a news release, police first received a report of shots fired outside a home on Duke Place. When officers arrived, they found a bullet hole in the apartment window. Nothing happened to the person living in the house.

Witnesses say they saw a man running from the area.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., RCMP received a second report of shots fired near Brandon Crescent. Despite an extensive search, police were unable to identify or locate the suspect.

Investigators believe both shootings were related to an ongoing investigation into a 21-year-old man from Waterloo, Ontario. Tyrell Porter was previously involved in another shooting that occurred earlier this month and is currently wanted on outstanding warrants for multiple firearms offenses.

Porter is believed to still be in the Thompson area and is considered armed and dangerous, RCMP said.

People who see Porter are advised to avoid approaching him. Anyone with information is asked to call Thompson RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
