Samsung Insider Reveals Huge Galaxy S25 Ultra Decision

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the flagship smartphone of not only the Galaxy S series, but also Samsung’s advanced generative artificial intelligence. The latest specification details suggest that the South Korean company has found a way to improve the processing speed of AI procedures.

Well-known commentator IceUniverse reports that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will ship with more memory than current Galaxy S phones.

While their expertise in details coming from inside Samsung is strong, the simple statement that “the S25 Ultra will definitely have 16GB of RAM” leaves a few questions; the most important of which is whether 16GB RAM will be universal across the Ultra range of models? The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in three storage options (256GB, 512GB, and 1TB), all with 12GB RAM. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are available with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, which would suggest that 16GB would be universal, but the latter shows that Samsung is keen to offer a wide range of specifications. It is possible that 16 GB of memory could be reserved for the 1 TB model.

There’s a solid argument for all available Galaxy S25 Ultra variants to sport the 16GB RAM that comes with Google’s latest Pixel 9 Pro models. Almost 4 GB of RAM in each of these models is reserved for Google AI procedures. Introduced with Google’s advances in generative AI, it guarantees faster performance because part of the memory is dedicated to AI.

When Samsung released Galaxy AI in January 2024, several features harked back to features from Google’s first AI-generating software found on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones. You can bet a similar approach will be taken this year. And if the software comes, why doesn’t the requirement for reserved RAM come in as well? The user experience would match the current base model S24 Ultra with 12GB of memory, but with the added bonus of second-generation Galaxy AI.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra alongside the full S25 lineup and the Galaxy AI update in mid-January 2025.
