Samsung Galaxy AI goes to cheaper S24 FE models

Prices for the S24 FE start from £39,990 for the 128GB version

MANILA, Philippines – Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, which debuted on the brand’s S24 flagship phones in early January, are now available on the high-end and midrange versions of the line, the S24 FE.

Like the base S24, the S24 FE will have the following AI-enabled features:

• Generative editing – for removing objects from photos or filling empty spaces in a photo that appear when you re-adjust the size or orientation
• Portrait Studio – allows users to turn a selfie into a cartoon, comic book, watercolor or sketch version
• Removing a reflection
• Slow motion video generation powered by artificial intelligence
• Circle-to-Search – Allows users to search using items that appear on their screen
• Live translation
• Message Assist Features – Allow users to adjust the tone of their messages
• AI-enabled transcription

Prices for the S24 FE start from £39,990 for the 128GB version and are also available in 256GB (£44,990) and 512GB (£53,990) versions. The entry-level S24 model launched with a starting price of £53,990 for the 256GB model.

According to a report by Android Authority, the FE version comes with the Samsung Exynos 2400e chipset, which is a slightly slower version of the Exynos 2400 processor found in the base S24 model.

Citing Samsung, the site states that the difference is a minuscule 0.1 GHz (3.2 GHz vs. 3.1 GHz), which largely means there is no noticeable difference in real-world use between the two. This also bodes well for the performance of the AI ​​features ported to FE from the base model.

The S24 FE isn’t the first FE phone to come with AI features. That title goes to the S23 FE, which received AI features a few months after the S24’s launch.

While the S23 FE may be the cheapest gateway to Galaxy AI, currently priced at £34,990, the phone uses an older-generation Exynos 2200 chip. This means that support for AI features like S24 FE may not be as efficient if these new tools are most important to you.

Other phone models touting a similar set of AI features include OPPO with the Reno12 series (34,990 pp) and Honor with the 200 model (24,990 pp).

Galaxy AI is not currently available for mid-range models, the Galaxy A35 (£18,990) and A55 (£24,990), although the brand told Rappler in July that it was looking into it.
